Through the UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) Policy Internships Scheme, doctoral students experience work in an influential policy organisation.
Placements are available across all the UK parliamentary offices. This includes the Scottish Parliament Information Centre (SPICe).
UKRI interns will work with SPICe for 3 months. They'll focus on providing at least one proactive Research Briefing. They’ll also get involved in the day-to-day work of the Parliament. This includes contributing to briefings for committees and helping to answer enquiries from MSPs.
Interns will get first-hand experience of working in a political environment. They’ll develop a good knowledge of parliamentary scrutiny processes.
Placements are based in the Scottish Parliament building at Holyrood, Edinburgh. Remote working arrangements will be made due to current COVID-19 circumstances.
