That the Parliament agrees with the recommendation of the Scottish Government and the Finance and Public Administration Committee that Dr Eleanor Ryan and Justine Riccomini be appointed to the Scottish Fiscal Commission.

That the Parliament congratulates the boxer, Alan Perrie, on being named as part of Team Scotland for the upcoming Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, which begin on 23 July 2026; understands that Alan is originally from Fallin in Stirlingshire and is a member of Doghouse Boxing Club in neighbouring Stirling; notes that he went from a bronze medal at the EUBC European Under-23 event in 2024 to being a British and Scottish champion, reaching the quarter-finals at the 2025 World Championships in Liverpool; commends Alan for his determination and commitment to training and the sport, and extends its very best wishes to him, his coaches and everyone at the club and Team Scotland.

That the Parliament agrees, under Rule 12.1.2C, that:

(a)  elections of conveners of subject and mandatory committees will take place on Tuesday 9 June 2026;

  (b)  that the location of elections will be Committee Room 5 (the Smith Room); and

  (c)  that the voting period of elections will commence immediately after Time for Reflection and conclude at 7pm.

That the Parliament welcomes the recognition of two walking routes in Fife being named in the Top 10 Mining Landscape Journeys 2026; understands that the national recognition from the Mining Landscapes virtual museum shines a spotlight on the stories, history and community pride rooted in the region’s coalfield communities, as well as the ongoing work to improve access to green space; believes that the Bowhill and the Lady Josephine and the Minto, Brighills Colliery, walking routes highlight the area’s rich mining heritage while celebrating how former industrial landscapes have been transformed into welcoming places for people and nature; notes that the Minto route links closely with local plans to enhance Minto Woodland, which are helping to create a space that supports walking, wellbeing and community use; recognises that the project has been shaped by local people to make the area more accessible and enjoyable for everyone and is very grateful to individuals in these communities who support creating greener, healthier places with particular commendation for Elaine Collins, who was named a community champion by the Scottish Civic Trust in 2025 for her outstanding volunteer work supporting local access and green spaces; acknowledges that both routes are part of a wider network of mining heritage journeys across the UK, helping people explore former coalfield landscapes in a new way through walking, storytelling and community connection, and extends its very best wishes to Elaine, all the partners, volunteers and individuals for all their contributions.

That the Parliament commends Fife referee trainer, George Macdonald, from Kirkcaldy, for nine years of dedication to the development of refereeing for the Fife Referee Association; understands that for his last session, George arranged a special spin bike session in the Glenrothes Michael Woods Centre velo studio, giving 22 referees the chance to swap the whistle for the pedals; understands that from fitness sessions to support, guidance and encouragement, George has played a immense role in the development of many officials across the association; acknowledges George’s commitment and passion for refereeing; recognises that his contributions have had a lasting impact on refereeing in the Fife region; expresses its gratitude to George for all his time and dedication to training referees in Fife, and extends to George its very best wishes for the future.

That the Parliament recognises that the Scottish Apprenticeship Week will take place from 2 to 6 March 2026; acknowledges the immense contribution of apprentices across a range of sectors and their central role in driving Scotland’s economic growth and future; welcomes the commitment of businesses, such as RSE, operating in Scotland, which, it believes, create new employment opportunities, are innovative and contribute to advancing the resilient infrastructure needed for generations to come; believes that RSE is one of Scotland’s leading businesses for water technology, with manufacturing and specialist engineering facilities across the country, including in Dalgety Bay in the Mid Scotland and Fife region, offering a variety of opportunities for school leavers, as well as workers looking for a change in career; applauds that, for almost 30 years, RSE has supported 400 people through its apprenticeship programme, combining on-the-job training with formalised college learning and equipping apprentices ranging from ages 17 to 43, with the necessary skills and qualifications to have a successful career in the water industry; extends its very best wishes to apprentices training with RSE, and other businesses across Scotland, and wishes them every success as they develop the skills needed to take on new opportunities that industry depends on.
