That the Parliament congratulates the Friends of the Broch Hospital on the recent establishment of the group and applauds what it sees as the outstanding dedication, compassion and community spirit demonstrated by its members and the immeasurable value of the volunteers who give their time to support Fraserburgh Hospital and those who rely on its services; commends the group's commitment to improving the wellbeing and experience of patients, families and staff through fundraising, practical support, the provision of added comforts and community engagement; acknowledges that strong community-led initiatives such as this help to strengthen and safeguard community healthcare services; commends all those involved for their hard work, generosity and determination, and wishes the Friends of the Broch Hospital every success as it grows and continues to make a positive and lasting difference to the hospital and the wider Fraserburgh community.

That the Parliament recognises the importance of rail connectivity to the economic and social wellbeing of communities across the north east of Scotland; notes the work of the Campaign for North East Rail (CNER) in promoting the case for enhanced rail infrastructure and services across the region; acknowledges calls for the re-railing of the north east; recognises that new rail networks would allow for economic growth, tourism, freight movement, access to employment and education and regional development; notes the importance of reliable transport links for coastal and rural communities; recognises the potential role of rail in improving community resilience, reducing pressure on key road networks and making roads safer, and welcomes continued engagement by communities, businesses, transport bodies and policymakers on opportunities to strengthen rail connectivity across the north east of Scotland.

That the Parliament congratulates Fraserburgh Waters of Philorth, Fraserburgh Tigerhill, Peterhead Lido and Inverboyndie Beach on being recognised at Scotland's Beach Awards 2026; notes that four of the 52 award-winning beaches are located within the Banffshire and Buchan Coast constituency; further notes that Fraserburgh Waters of Philorth, Fraserburgh Tigerhill and Peterhead Lido have each achieved the award for 19 consecutive years, while Inverboyndie Beach has been recognised for the 20th consecutive year; understands that Scotland's Beach Awards celebrate the achievements of well-managed beaches across Scotland and recognise high standards of environmental quality, facilities and cleanliness; thanks the local communities and local authority landscape teams who maintain and support these beaches; acknowledges the importance of Scotland's coastline to further tourism, attract visitors and benefit the economy, and commends all those whose dedication helps to ensure that these beaches continue to be places of which the north east can be proud.

That the Parliament celebrates the second Glover Festival, which is taking place in Fraserburgh on 14 June 2026, following the success of the 2025 event; acknowledges the global contribution of Thomas Blake Glover, a Scottish merchant and industrialist, who played a key role in strengthening relations between Scotland and Japan; recognises the importance of the festival in celebrating both Scottish and Japanese culture, welcoming international guests, providing music and entertainment and benefiting the local community; thanks the Fraserburgh Rotary Club and Glover Committee for their hard work in organising the festival; expresses its thanks to Ocean Winds, Fraserburgh Fitness Centre and Trails for their support; recognises that this is a community-wide effort that many businesses, organisations and groups have contributed to; acknowledges that there will be a naming ceremony for the new Fraserburgh Harbour pilot boat, The Glover; notes that distinguished guests at the festival will include the Consul General of Japan, Katsutoshi Takeda, and the President of Mitsubishi Electric Air Conditioning Systems Europe, Mr Taro Hattori, and congratulates all involved and wishes them every success for the festival.

That the Parliament notes the view that there is a need for a GP walk-in centre in Banffshire and Buchan Coast; understands that many residents in rural and coastal communities can face challenges accessing timely primary care appointments, due to geography and pressures on local NHS services; believes that prioritising a GP walk-in centre in Banffshire and Buchan Coast would help improve access to healthcare, reduce pressure on existing services and support local communities, and welcomes ongoing efforts to strengthen primary care access across Scotland.

That the Parliament recognises the importance of The Vinery in Banff and the role that it plays in addressing social isolation and supporting community wellbeing; understands that Grow@The Vinery provides training, learning and wellbeing opportunities for people experiencing poverty, poor mental health, loneliness and isolation; believes that the project empowers people to address inequality and rural disadvantage while supporting inclusive growth; notes with disappointment the withdrawal of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, which, it understands, has placed the future of the service at risk; is concerned about the potential impact on staff and, in particular, on service users, and notes calls for action to secure the future of The Vinery and the support that it provides to the community.

That the Parliament thanks the organisers of the Buckie Big Braw Brew, held at the Buckie British Legion, for delivering a welcoming and thoughtful community event that encouraged local people to share their hopes and priorities for Buckie; recognises the innovative and inclusive approach taken, providing an opportunity for residents to give feedback and share ideas about their community; commends Anne Bolton Braidwood for her work in organising the event; acknowledges the support of Age Scotland in sponsoring the event; notes the positive contribution made by partner organisations, including representatives from Age Scotland and the Cyber and Fraud Hub (Scotland), and recognises the Buckie Big Braw Brew as an excellent example of community engagement, bringing people together over conversation, connection and shared ideas for the future of their town.

That the Parliament commends the work of Deveronvale Community Hub for what it sees as its outstanding contribution to community wellbeing in Banffshire and Buchan Coast; believes that the Hub is a powerful example of community spirit in action, providing a vital lifeline to individuals and families who are struggling; acknowledges the wide range of acts of kindness delivered by the Hub, including the provision of football boots and kits for children, school uniforms and equipment, Christmas hampers, and support to ensure that families across the Banff area can enjoy a Christmas dinner; notes that the Hub was founded by Jillian McBain, Maureen Macleod, Maureen Clark, Linda Slater and Agnieszka Matuc, and thanks all involved for their dedication, compassion and tireless efforts, demonstrating how a small group of committed people can make a truly transformative difference to their community.
