That the Parliament welcomes the campaign to recognise the life of Leeds United and Scotland legend Billy Bremner; recognises that from his working-class roots in The Raploch, in Stirling, he rose to become revered in Leeds, Scotland and the wider football and sporting community; notes that he is one of only a few players to be a member of both the Scottish Football Hall of Fame and the English Football Hall of Fame and that he captained Scotland in its undefeated appearance at the 1974 World Cup tournament; supports the campaign by the Scottish Football Supporters Association alongside Raploch Community Council, Leeds United Supporters Groups, the University of Stirling, Stirling Community Enterprise, Famous Tartan Army Magazine and Stirling Council to erect a statue in his honour in The Raploch; congratulates Kenny Hunter for being selected as the sculptor and eagerly anticipates the erection of the statue of the captain of Leeds United’s greatest ever team.
