Netherton Primary School Achieves Silver Rights Respecting School Award

That the Parliament congratulates Netherton Primary School in Motherwell on being awarded the Silver Rights Respecting School Award by UNICEF UK; understands that UNICEF is the world’s leading organisation working for children and their rights, and that the Rights Respecting Schools Award recognises schools that demonstrate a strong commitment to promoting and realising children’s rights, while encouraging pupils, staff, and the wider school community to respect the rights of others; acknowledges that the Silver Award is granted to schools making excellent progress in embedding the principles of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child into their ethos, curriculum, and daily practice; recognises the school’s pride in the positive impact that the programme has had in empowering pupils, strengthening pupil voice, and fostering a respectful and caring culture; further recognises the dedication of pupils and staff in achieving this significant milestone, and wishes Netherton Primary School every success as it continues its journey towards the Gold Award.
