That the Parliament recognises the work of the Queen’s Nursing Institute Scotland (QNIS), which is a charity that provides professional leadership and development opportunities for Scotland’s community nurses and midwives, encouraging them to tackle health and care inequalities in collaboration with the people they care for; understands that there are now almost 200 contemporary Queen’s Nurses working across all NHS board areas, as well as 217 retired Queen’s Nurses who trained with the QNIS prior to 1969; acknowledges that in, July 2025, The Queen hosted a reception as Patron of QNIS at the Palace of Holyroodhouse, where Her Majesty met current and former nurses, staff, trustees, supporters and volunteers; notes that QNIS also held an informative exhibition in the Scottish Parliament from 11 to 13 November, giving MSPs the opportunity to learn more about the charity’s history, values and impact; recognises the important contribution that community nurses and midwives make to delivering quality care to the people of Scotland, and commends all Queen’s Nurses, past and present, for their dedication, compassion and enduring commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of communities throughout Scotland.
