That the Parliament congratulates LIFT D&G in Lochside, Dumfries, in the South Scotland region, for being named a finalist in the prestigious SURF Awards for Best Practice in Community Regeneration; notes that the awards will be held in Glasgow in December 2025; recognises what it sees as the outstanding efforts of local residents, artists, organisations and stakeholders in developing a creative and inclusive approach to revitalising the area; commends the work of LIFT (Local Initiatives for Transformation), which promotes the innovative use of arts, culture and community-led initiatives to foster pride, wellbeing and opportunity in Lochside; acknowledges the success of LIFT and its projects which use creative acronyms such as “Lochside Is Families Together” and “Living In Flats Together”, and which, it believes, have strengthened community bonds and improved quality of life for residents through shared experiences and collaborative living; notes the importance of celebrating and supporting grassroots regeneration projects across Scotland, and wishes the LIFT team every success at the SURF Awards and in their continued work to inspire positive change.
