That the Parliament recognises Baby Loss Awareness Week 2025, which takes place from 9 to 15 October; notes that its theme this year is, Together, We Care; commends the compassionate and tireless work of the Baby Loss Collaborative, which brings together leading charities in Scotland, including Held In Our Hearts, Simba Charity, Sands, Baby Loss Retreat, the Scottish Cot Death Trust, Miscarriage Association and Antenatal Results & Choices (ARC), to provide vital support to bereaved families and people affected by pregnancy, baby and infant loss; acknowledges the importance of the collective and coordinated work of these organisations to ensure that everyone in Scotland has access to the care and support that they need following pregnancy, baby or infant loss; notes that this year’s focus is on the importance of ensuring that specialist bereavement care, support and information is accessible to all, regardless of where they live; recognises the commitment of third sector organisations as equal partners in responding to baby loss bereavement, creating dedicated spaces for loss, and providing meaningful opportunities to acknowledge, honour and remember, while ensuring the timely provision of high-quality psychological and emotional support; believes that clear professional guidance, underpinned by continuity and compassion, is essential to achieving this standard of care and tackling stigma, and expresses its heartful appreciation to all working to improve bereavement care in Scotland.
