That the Parliament welcomes the 2025 WayWORD festival, which runs from 1 to 5 October 2025; celebrates the efforts of the organisers to amplify new and diverse voices as well as maintain long-standing cultural practices in Aberdeen; notes the range of events across the main five festival days, as well as later dates in the year; recognises the emphasis on empowerment and development, with training offered to young people on a range of skills, from public speaking to graphic design; acknowledges the importance of collaboration in the running of WayWORD, which has partnerships across the arts and education sectors; notes what it sees as the importance of community arts and cultural festivals on fostering good community relations, personal wellbeing and diverse economies; commits to addressing the reported threats that community and cultural organisations face due to a range of issues, including, but not limited to, low funding opportunities, and wishes the organisers and attendees every success in this and future iterations of the festival.
