Celebrating Dumfries and Galloway College’s Role in Driving Student Success and Regional Growth

That the Parliament congratulates Dumfries and Galloway College, at both campus sites in Stranraer and Dumfries, on its continued success in improving student outcomes over the last four years, with over 70% of full-time further education (FE) and higher education (HE) students and 90% of part-time FE and HE students achieving successful results; recognises the college’s vital role in training more than 360 modern apprentices annually and supporting progression, with 67% of full-time students moving onto further study, and 27% entering the workforce; commends the college as a strategic enabler of inclusive growth, net zero transition, and social mobility in the south of Scotland; applauds its commitment to innovation through investment in digital delivery, green skills and employer partnerships; notes the availability of key honours degree pathways in cyber security, business and creative practice; celebrates its recognition as a finalist in three College Development Network Awards 2025, for digital, community learning and sustainability, and wishes Dumfries and Galloway College continued success in its mission to empower learners and communities across the region.
