That the Parliament recognises and values what it sees as the important role of the National Union of Journalists (NUJ) trade union in supporting hardworking journalists, including those at STV whose jobs are reportedly at risk; understands that the union has described the planned STV job cuts as devastating; appreciates the organising and effort that the NUJ is making to protect news services in the north east; commends its ongoing commitment to protecting jobs and ensuring fair treatment for staff, and extends its best wishes for the NUJ's continued efforts in advocating for workers' rights and the future of localised journalism in the north east.
