Rani and Harwans Dheer’s 45 Years of Service to the Cadder Community

That the Parliament congratulates Rani and Harwans Dheer, who have recently retired after 45 years of running Cadder Supermarket in north Glasgow; understands that the couple’s shop has been a cornerstone of the local Cadder community for over four decades; recognises that the strength of feeling in the Cadder area was demonstrated at a farewell party at Cadder Community Centre on 20 September 2025, where dozens of residents were in attendance to pay tribute to the couple’s dedication over the decades; acknowledges that the shop will be taken forward under new ownership; welcomes the contribution that small businesses such as Cadder Supermarket make to local communities; understands that Rani and Harwans plan to use their free time to travel more and spend more time with their family, and wishes Rani and Harwans all the very best in their well-earned retirement.
