That the Parliament congratulates NHS Tayside on its significant progress in reducing its environmental impact through what it sees as exemplary waste management initiatives; notes that NHS Tayside has reduced its general waste by an impressive 56%, far surpassing the national target of 15 percent, and that no general waste is now sent to landfill, helping to protect the environment for future generations; commends the catering team for their efforts in reducing food waste by 47%, exceeding the national target of 33%; recognises the organisation’s continued commitment to sustainability through its goal of ensuring that 70% of domestic waste is recycled or composted by 2025; acknowledges the introduction of communal waste stations in non-clinical areas and the removal of personal waste bins by many teams, encouraging better waste segregation and recycling behaviours; notes that recycling bins are now available across NHS Tayside to support responsible waste disposal by staff, patients and visitors alike, and applauds the leadership of NHS Tayside Chief Executive, Nicky Connor, and the dedication of all staff for their role in these achievements and their ongoing commitment to building a greener future for Tayside.
