Commending the Fed Up Café in Stranraer for Outstanding Community Support

That the Parliament commends the Fed Up Café in Stranraer, in the South Scotland region, for its exceptional contribution to the local community; recognises the café’s inclusive and compassionate approach, offering free meals to anyone who drops in, with no questions asked; notes that signposting to additional support services is also provided; applauds its innovative community larder, with support from FareShare, the UK's largest food distribution charity, which helps tackle food insecurity and supports dignity in access to essentials, including toiletries; acknowledges the café’s commitment to skills development, including employability training, barista teaching and volunteering opportunities that empower individuals and build confidence; notes the café’s meals-on-wheels service, which ensures that vulnerable and isolated members of the community are supported with nutritious food and human connection; celebrates the dedication of the staff and volunteers who make this work possible, and recognises the Fed Up Café as a shining example of grassroots action, social solidarity and community resilience in Dumfries and Galloway.
