To ask the Scottish Government what data it will use to determine the categorisation of salmon rivers for season 2018-19.
Answer
The assessment of salmon rivers by Marine Scotland for the 2018 fishing season is based on two main data sets: rod catches returned by anglers and information from fish counters around the country. The technical guide - Assessing the Conservation Status of Salmon in Scotland – which we published in September 2017 as part of our recent consultation on proposed river gradings sets out in detail how the data is derived and used.
The consultation period ended on 13 October 2017 and over 150 responses have been received. We are now considering these in detail and will bring forward draft regulations in due course.

As part of the £750 million Attainment Scotland Fund committed over this parliamentary term, £120 million of Pupil Equity Funding is being provided to schools in 2017-18 to help close the poverty related attainment gap. Funding is now available to schools and Headteachers must have access to the full amount of the allocated funding.

To ask the Scottish Government when finance will be forthcoming to support the building of new high schools in Dunfermline and West Fife.
Answer
The Scottish Government is currently providing significant investment of almost £58m to Fife Council through the Government's Schools for the Future programme. The three projects were identified by Fife Council as its priority schools for investment.
Our 2016 Manifesto indicated that the Government would bring forward new proposals to build on the success of the programme. Options are currently being developed and we intend to make an announcement later this year.

To ask the Scottish Government whether it will publish the minutes of the meeting of 15 March 2017 between the Cabinet Secretary for Education and Skills and Bill Maxwell, Lesley Brown and Clare Hicks of Education Scotland.
Answer
The purpose of the meeting on 15 March 2017 between myself and the Chief Inspector of Education Scotland and other officials was to brief the Cabinet Secretary on the content of the Strategic Level Inspection Report for Argyll and Bute Council. The report was published on 21 March 2017 and can be accessed here -https://www.education.gov.scot/assets/contactorganisationinspectionreports/argyllbuteinea210317.pdf. No action points arose from the briefing and therefore no minute was taken.
