  • considers all public petitions that meet the rules for petitioning the Parliament
  • decides what action should be taken for all public petitions
  • reviews how the public petitions system works.

Work of the Committee: Committee Remit

To consider public petitions addressed to the Parliament in accordance with these Rules and, in particular, to—

  1. decide in a case of dispute whether a petition is admissible;
  2. decide what action should be taken upon an admissible public petition; and
  3. keep under review the operation of the petitions system.
